From 1 to 5 April 2025, a delegation of Tunisian business leaders, members of CONECT and of the Tunisian-Swedish Chamber of Commerce (CCTS), accompanied H.E. Mohamed Ali Nafti, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, on his official visit to Sweden. The aim was to promote trade and encourage new investment between the two countries.

On 2 April, the Sweden–Tunisia Business Forum, “Accelerating Business Engagements with Tunisia”, took place at the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Stockholm, in continuity of the Nordic-Tunisian forum held in Tunis in November 2024. It was organised in partnership with CONECT, Business Sweden and CCTS. Minister Nafti and H.E. Daniel Westlén gave the official kick-off. FIPA-Tunisia presented the country’s assets for foreign investors, and CCTS President Khaled Hadded spoke on investment opportunities in Tunisia and insights from Swedish companies already active there.

In his opening remarks, the Minister commended CONECT and Business Sweden for organising the forum and pointed to Tunisia’s economic recovery in 2024 and its ongoing reforms. He highlighted the success of Swedish companies in Tunisia and expressed the hope that their number would reach one hundred in the coming years. He also underlined that Tunisia’s membership of COMESA and the African Continental Free Trade Area gives Swedish companies access to African markets. For the Swedish side, the State Secretary reiterated Sweden’s readiness to strengthen cooperation with Tunisia, notably in renewable energy, the green economy, digitalisation and telecommunications.

The business delegation also had a full programme around the forum. It met Business Sweden, visited the Swedish government agency for international trade, and visited Ericsson Studio together with Slim Ghariani. On 1 April, Sweden’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Maria Malmer Stenergard had welcomed Minister Nafti to Stockholm for bilateral talks, and the Tunisian Minister was accompanied by a business delegation.
